The Outsiders by S.E Hinton

Most of you( don't really know who I'm talking to) have probably read this book. It is usually read at school between 7th and 9th grade. It is  a great reading level for 7th grade but I also think that reading the book in 9th grade you would understand it much more. The book is an overall great read. I think its a good book for kids who don't really fancy reading. For me, personally it didn't really live up to my expectations. The characters were suppolsed to be full of goodie goodie but really to me they lacked that realness of a  character a really good book needs to make the characters not just ideas in the authors head written down. I thought the story was slow in the beginning and then sped up all the sudden to the point where you could barely tell what the heck was going on. To me this book was a little bit of a disapointment. I guess my standards wee just set a little bit to high. Even though on the front cover it said the best young adult novel of all time. This book was a great read all the way through but it isn't something I would want to read again, at least for a while
